All about Austin! 

DSI London’s newest Elite Performer Austin Joson, who joined our team in time for the International Championships 2018, almost needs no introduction. He and his partner, Nino Dzneladze, are one of the most popular Amateur Latin duos in the world. 

The New Jersey-based pair have danced together since 2014 and are now regular finalists in the Worlds, UK Open, British Open and International Championships. They’re also two-time US National Amateur Latin Champions and triumphed as Amateur Rising Star Latin champs at Blackpool Dance Festival in 2015. 

Making the final in the Amateur Latin at the British Open for the first time stands out as one of their most memorable moments, but Austin explains: “It is difficult to pick just one because they were all such different experiences.” 

Blackpool, Austin says, is their favourite comp, “because of the atmosphere and music”, and he loves the rumba, “because of its sensuality and luxury of time” and the samba “because of the variety of rhythm”. 

Austin and Nino’s dream is “to be champions and to touch others.” He says the partnership works so well because “we are quite similar in every aspect, especially our instincts and emotions. We share a deep passion for the same things.”
